Both
powerhouses, located in Uttara Kannada District of Karnataka,
comprise part of the second stage of the Kalinadi Hydro Electric
Project. MCC constructed the powerhouses, transformer and switchyards
with all structural accessories at both locations. The Kadra Powerhouse
generates 3 x 50 MW and the Kodasalli Powerhouse 3 x 40 MW. Valued
at Rs.75 crores the Kadra Powerhouse involved excavation of 2
lakh cu.m. in hard rock up to 26m. below sea level. 1,75,000 cu.m.
of concrete were involved in the construction of both these powerhouses.
